Lightning Premiership - Girls' Netball B
Mr Garry Martin (LePage PS Principal)

Game One vs. Mentone Girls Grammar School
MGGS was obviously a well skilled and drilled team with many players who participate in Netball outside of school.
Phoebe played centre and was involved in some great plays trying to get us into a scoring position.
Tilley and Jemma teamed well in defence. Without them the score may have been worse,.
The score was not an indication of how well we were doing in general play.
Score: MGGS: 19 KHPS/LPPS: 0 – Loss
Game Two vs. Heatherton Christian College
Another well practised team, but we were improving our team work the longer we got to play together.
Jemma showed some great skills with her goal shooting. Sofia was trying hard to gain good positions and taking some passes. Phoebe continued very strong play as centre.
Score: HCC: 10 KHPS/LPPS: 3 -Loss
Game Three – Bye
Game Four vs. Southmoor Primary
Stephanie did well to make a number of goals as GS.
Phoebe – continuing centre work bringing others into play.
Helena and Sofia showed good passing and catching.
Tilly – great centre work in the second half.
Jenna and Jenny did some good work in defence.
Score: Southmoor: 2 KHPS/LPPS: 7 -Win!!
Game Five vs. Cheltenham East Primary
Good shooting from Jenna helped achieve victory.
Jenna and Sofia showed good team play in the shooting area.
Antosia – great improvement in passing to advantage and catching.
Vanessa – continued to try hard on the wing.
Score: CEPS: 1 KHPS/LPPS: 5 – Win!!
Game Six vs. Stella Maris
Phoebe proved to be an effective goal shooter, scoring one of our two goals.
Tilley and Sofia worked well in defence.
We worked very well as a team, holding Stella’s offence for the first three quarters.
Unfortunately Stella had a very good fourth quarter.
Score: SM: 6 KHPS/LPPS: 2 – Loss
Final Result: 4th. out of 6 schools.
In all games, the team showed great levels of sportsmanship towards other schools and good co-operation amongst themselves with regard to the positions they were allocated and taking turns in being off the court.
Special thanks to Bruce Steel, who coached the team on the day of the Lightning Premiership and supported us in the social matches during Term 2.
LPPS would like to thank KHPS for allowing us to be included and to Mr. Macdermid and Mr. Smethurst for their organisation of the Inter-School Sport in both Terms One and Two.
