Social Emotional Active Learning Incursion
Our ‘Social, Emotional, Active Learning’ incursion is nearly finished and if the smiles of delight on the students’ faces are any measure to go by then it has been a resounding success. Each session is narrated by a seal puppet and all of the students choose from a range of other puppets including turtles, crocodiles, mice, bears and whales. The narrator cleverly engages the children in magical scenes, where they all participate and explore social issues. Below are the different foci for each session:
1. First day jitters
2. Building bridges between friends
3. Overcoming obstacles
4. Self management
5. Friends are the best teachers (helping each other)
