Melbourne Museum Excursion

Thursday 19th March was an exciting day for the Preps. It was our first school excursion! We were very eager getting on the bus, particularly some students who had never been on a big bus before.

We participated in the program, ‘My Grandmother’s Toy Box’, which was led by the Museum staff and supported our current Unit of Inquiry ‘We have relationships in our lives’. The program enables children to observe and interact with traditional playthings and games from different historical periods. It explored the concept of how children played together in the past and how it is different today. The Preps also explored the Children’s Gallery and the Melbourne Story Gallery. This provided the students the opportunity to interact with their friends whilst viewing and participating in a variety of activities.

After an exhilarating day, the Preps trooped outside the Museum ready for a rest on the bus. Unfortunately our bus was held up in traffic for a very long time. There were some happy but tired faces when we got back to school.

A huge thank you to our parent helpers who went above and beyond their call of duty; Mrs Defina, Mrs Hussein, Mrs Alvarenga, Mrs Westbury, Ms Kennedy and Mrs Khazaal. Your support was greatly appreciated.
