SMART Goals in Level 2
English SMART Goal
This term, I want to be able to copy and learn my words in spelling so that I can get 10/10 in the weekly tests.
Maths SMART Goal
In Grade 2, I want to learn how to do take away sums.

All students in Level 2 have thought carefully about what they want to achieve during Term 1. Each student has written an English SMART Goal, Maths SMART Goal and a Personal SMART Goal.
We all discussed what the acronym SMART stands for:
Specific (I know exactly what I want to do.)
Measurable (How will I know I’m getting better?)
Achievable (I will be able to do this.)
Relevant (Is it important to me?)
Timely (By a certain day.)
English SMART Goal
By the end of term 1, I will be able to write a book with two stories, both fiction and non-fiction.
Maths SMART Goal
By the end of term 1, I want to be able to complete division equations, by doing Mathletics every week. I already know my times tables so that’s the next step.

Personal SMART Goal
By the end of Term 1, I will be a role model for the Year 1s by listening to the teacher.
English SMART Goal
By the end of Term 1, I will get better at reading chapter books by practicing every night.
Maths SMART Goal
By the end of Term 1, I will get a gold Mathletics trophy by doing all the activities.

Personal SMART Goal
By the end of Term 1, I will be more of a risk taker with my work. I will tell my brain that I can do it.
English SMART Goal
By the end of Term 1, I will be quicker at writing and more confident. I will practice every day and tell my brain that I can do it.
Maths SMART Goal
By the end of Term 1, I will be able to skip count by 2s from odd numbers like: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. I will practice every day on the abacus and number lines.

By the end of Term 1, I will be better at spelling. I will practice my spelling words every day and check that they are right.
Maths SMART Goal
By the end of Term 1, I will be able to skip count by 5s to 100. I will focus hard and practice every day.
