Cross Country Report 2016

Mr Stuart Macdermid, Cross Country Coordinator

After three early morning training sessions at 50 Acres (Kingston Reserve), 26 students from K.H.P.S. eagerly jumped on a bus ready for the District Cross Country trials. In perfect conditions, our students represented the school in the fashion we have come to expect; plenty of support for all contestants and 100% effort when competing. Congratulations to Tejana J and Tom B for making it through to the Division Stage after finishing in the top 10, which is to be held at Cornish Campus in Patterson Lakes. Good luck to both of you.

The final placing for each student are:

12yr old boys (3km): Tom 6th, Andres 26th, Hudson 29th, Logan 32nd, Jacob 48th

12yr old girls (3km): Alannah 28th, Rebekah 41st

11yr old boys (3km): Joel 13th, Harley 21st, Brodie 31st, .Jack, 41st, Mehdi 50th, Bailey 53rd

11yr old girls (3km): Tejana 9th

9/10yr old boys (2km): Jaime 31st, Archie 39th, Raphael 52nd, Lachie 54th, Miles 55th, Taine 65th, Lucas 68th, Thomas B 70th, Seb 71st, Aiden 72nd, Alistair 73rd.

9/10yr old girls (2km): Sienna G 32nd

There were many highlights of the day. It was fantastic to see many students competing for the first time and a special mention to Harley K, who, due to numbers, had to compete in the age division above (plus an extra kilometre to run) and finished a very credible 21st, an outstanding effort.

Thanks to Mr Smethurst, Mr Starling and Miss Heiberg for their support at the practises and on the day itself.
