Book Week!

24.8.15 - 28.8.15

From Monday 24th August to Friday 28th August, the students will engage in Literacy, Maths, Art and Thinking activities based on the short listed books by the Children’s Book Council. All classes are currently reading the books that are short listed.

On Monday 24th August the children are invited to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character. We would love you to join us for the parade at 9:00am in the Performing Arts Centre.

Please support our second hand book sale by encouraging your child to donate a good quality book from home that they have outgrown. They can start bringing them in now! On Friday 28th August the children will go to the sale to buy second hand books for a gold coin donation. We are registered in the Great Book Swap Challenge which aims to raise $100,000 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation who buy books and deliver them to indigenous children and families in remote communities.

If you can help on the day of the sale please let Mr Hewitt know, or ask the office to pass on a message including what time of the day you are available as the sale will run from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm.

On Friday 28th August at 3:30pm it will be the parents turn to find a good read. Send a good quality book in with your child to donate to the stall now and then bring along your money on the day to purchase a second hand book for yourself! Money raised at the parent book swap will go towards our school library.
