Enrolment & Transition

“READY, PREP, GO!”

TRANSITION to SCHOOL PROGRAM for PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES

We want you to feel that you have made the best choice for your child’s schooling. To help you make the decision, we invite you into the school for thirteen transition sessions and an orientation morning. As a parent you can stay in the classroom setting and see for yourself how teaching and learning occur. You will be reassured by seeing our staff deal with children in the program and you will have all your questions answered as they occur to you – even those questions you think are silly!

Your child will benefit, too. They will be involved in activities that are stimulating and fun; they will get a feel for the school grounds, meet their Year 6 Buddies and be with old friends as well as meeting new friends. They will be supported in a caring environment by professional and passionate teaching staff. By the time the school commences in the following year, they will be very ready.

The Ready, Prep, Go! Program is comprehensive and purposeful. It allows the staff to get to know your child and to have an understanding of their needs. It allows you to see firsthand how school operates and to develop trust and confidence in us.

The program for 2017 begins on Friday 21st July at 2.30pm. Please download the flyer below.

Montessori coming to Kingston Heath Primary School in 2018

Kingston Heath Primary School is an authorised provider through Department of Education and Montessori Australia, of the montessori Cycle 2 program.  The Montessori approach offers a broad vision of education as an “aid to life.” It is designed to help children grow from childhood to maturity.  It succeeds because it draws its principles from the natural development of the child.  Its flexibility provides a matrix within which each individual child’s inner directives freely guide the child toward wholesome growth.

Montessori classrooms provide a prepared environment where children are free to respond to their natural tendency to work. The children’s innate passion for learning is encouraged by giving them opportunities to engage in spontaneous, purposeful activities with the guidance of a trained adult.  Through their work, the children develop concentration and joyful self-discipline.  Within a framework of order, the children progress at their own pace and rhythm, according to their individual capabilities.

We are committed to continuous inprovement for our students’ learning outcomes.  The PYP and Montessori programs have a strong academic, physical, social and emotional foundation, which are combined with incorporating global values and skills to better equip our students for the future.  Both programs are inquiry-based and have a similar philosophical ethos.  However, components of Montessori are discrete.

Kingston Heath Primary School is offering Cycle 2 Montessori in 2018.  Students will be accepted into the Montessori program at Kingston Heath Primary if they have had some experience at a Montessori Cycle 1 establishment.  Students are accepted into the Montessori Cycle 2 program at Kingston Heath Primary School at either Foundation (Prep) level, Year 1, Year 2 or Year 3.

The cost of the Montessori program is payable directly through Montessori Australia, and the annual school fees charged by Kingston Heath Primary School are payable directly to the school.  The fee for the Montessori program is in addition to the fees and charges to enrol your child at Kingston Heath Primary School.

To enrol your child today please download the Montessori enrolment form, complete and return to Kingston Heath Primary School, along with a copy of your child’s immunisation certificate and birth certificate.
